summer update
Wow it has been a long time since I last posted on here. i had to reread my last post just so i knew what the last thing i posted about.
First thing is that I ran the half marathon in 2:02:00 and i felt pretty good during the race. i then went and attempted another round of p90x, but after the second week i lost motivation and went to shorter less intense workouts. I got a punch card for fitness classes at fitness focus and went their for my workouts in august. I also participated in the dirty donkey mud run in july. I found it good, but not as dirty as i expected untill the end where their was a big mud pit. I also just finished a round of asylum volume 1. i feel like i got faster and stronger, but my diet was not really good so i did not see any physical results. I am currently doing a round of asylum volume 2 and i am hoping i can get my junk food under control this time.
I also got a big shocker in july that has changed things for the better. I bought a ticket for a local home lottery and on july 19th i got a call that i won the 50/50 draw for $222225. I recently bought myself my first house with the money and also paidoff the minimal debt that i had. I have been living in my house for about two weeks now and it has fwlt pretty nice living alone.

Past and Future Update
I know it has been a while since I posted a blog, but I am back now and hopefully back to a regular schedule. Since the last time that I blogged, I have actually gotten a new computer because my video card decided to crap out on me. This actually happened the morning after I posted my last blog. After I finished BodyBeast, I started focusing on my cardio to prepare for the half marathon that I am running at the end of the month. I started off doing Insanity and fitness classes at the gym because the weather was not nice enough to go outside and run. There was still snow on the ground until the first couple days of May, which is ridiculous. I was finally able to get outside and run properly, I did do a few runs before, but I was having to dodge the puddles and ice all the time. I have been running four days per week for the last two weeks and next week I will be running five days as it will be my last week of training before the race. The final week before the race I will be focusing on core and stretching to relax my body and prepare it for the race. I have actually been feeling really good about my running this past week. My times have improved and I am still hopeful about my goal of completing the half marathon in 2:10:00 or less. I know my runs are not the fastest that I have ever had, but with the limited amount of running I have been doing lately I think I am doing pretty good. My room mate has been having troubles with his training lately because his calves have been super tight. He has tried a lot of things to loosen them up, but the race is fast approaching and he is running out of time to get some serious training in. Another friend of mine who is joining us in the half marathon has not been training at all. When he first signed up for the race, he sent me a text message asking me how long a half marathon was, after he had already signed up for it. He has not been running at all and I am not really certain how good he is going to do in the race. This summer I will also be competing in a mud run, this one is called the Dirty Donkey Mud Run. This run is a 5km obstacle course in the mud and I think it will be pretty fun to do. There are a couple guys from work who are going to join me in the mud run as well. We all had already singed up before we talked about it or we might have all signed up as a team. I will also be doing my third round of P90X this summer and I am hoping to get fantastic results from it, all I need to do is really focus on my diet and I should do great.

Vitamin Summary - Niacin and Biotin
Niacin(B3) is actually two chemical structures, nicotinic acid and nicotinamide. The body converts nicotinic acid to nicotinamide. Niacin has two co-enzyme forms, Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) and NADP (a phosphate group). These co-enzymes participate in the metabolism of glucose, fat and alcohol. The RDA for Niacin is a little different that other Vitamins because the body can make Niacin from Tryptophan. It is recommended that men consume 16 mg/day and women to consume 14 mg/day. You can get these numbers directly from the Niacin in food, but you also get 1 mg of Niacin for every 60 mg of Tryptophan you consume. Niacin Deficiency may result is Pellagra, which produces symptoms of diarrhea, dermatitis, dementia and possibly even Death ("The four D's"). Pellagra was originally believed to be caused by an infection, but was later discovered to be caused by diet because Corn used to be a big staple of the american diet and corn does not contain Niacin, or at least what it does contain is not available for absorption. Niacin toxicity can only be obtained from Niacin Supplements. The most common effect of Niacin toxicity is Niacin Flush, which dilates the capillaries and causes a tingling sensation that can be painful. The upper level of Niacin is 35 mg/day for both men and women. Chicken Breast, Canned Tuna, Liver, Mushrooms and Cornflakes provide the most Niacin for absorption.
Biotin plays an important role in metabolism and the co-enzymes participate in fatty acid synthesis and the breakdown of certain fatty acids and Amino acids. Biotin is needed is very small amounts, the Adequate Intake (AI) is 30 micro-grams/day for both men and women. Biotin deficiency rarely occur because of the small amount that is needed. It is actually possible to induce Biotin Deficiency by consuming two dozen raw egg whites every day for several months. Symptoms of Biotin Deficiency may include Depression, Lethargy, Hallucinations, Numb or tingling sensation in the arms and legs, red scaly rash around the eyes, nose and mouth, and also possible hair loss. Biotin is actually widespread throughout all kinds of food, but Liver, Egg Yolks, Soybeans, Fish and whole grains are really good sources of Biotin.

First week at the Feed Plant complete
I finished my first week at the feed plant today and the week was definitely interesting. The first couple days went really well, but as the week went on I started to have some asthma issues. For the first hour of the day I am grabbing bags of various products like Lysine, Sodium bicarbonate etc. I then have to rip open the bags and fill the bins up so the products can be mixed together and bagged later. While filling the bins it creates a lot of dust. We do have a vacuum hose that sucks up most of it, but it does not get it all because I am done with that I usually have to take a couple minutes and control my breathing before I can continue working. Then at the end of day we have to sweep up the place and that usually takes me a while because I am stopping every so often to control my breathing. When I took this position, I was told that I could transfer back to my previous position if I ever feel that this position is not for me, for whatever reason. I am most likely going to take to my supervisor on Monday morning and tell him that next week will be my last week at the feed plant. I know that when I go back to the Agro warehouse, I will be teased about only lasting two weeks, but that is ok because we joke around with each other all the time.
I will be posting my next Vitamin blog tonight as well because I am sort of stuck in my room right now. My roommates and their friends are currently in the middle of a Passion Party and I really do not want to be seen right now in fear of them making me join in.

First Day at the Feed Plant
I started my new position at the Feed Plant today and it really was not as bad as everyone made it sound. The work was fairly easy and most of the people are friendly. The machines pretty much do all the work and all I really had to do was stack block and/or bags of feed onto pallets. It can be a little noisy in there, but they supply earplugs if it really bothers you. When I was told that the place was really dusty, I was expecting it to be hard to see while the machines were running, but there was minimal dust in the air. The tasks seem pretty simple to learn, even though the paper work made it seem pretty complicated.
