First week at the Feed Plant complete

I finished my first week at the feed plant today and the week was definitely interesting. The first couple days went really well, but as the week went on I started to have some asthma issues. For the first hour of the day I am grabbing bags of various products like Lysine, Sodium bicarbonate etc. I then have to rip open the bags and fill the bins up so the products can be mixed together and bagged later. While filling the bins it creates a lot of dust. We do have a vacuum hose that sucks up most of it, but it does not get it all because I am done with that I usually have to take a couple minutes and control my breathing before I can continue working. Then at the end of day we have to sweep up the place and that usually takes me a while because I am stopping every so often to control my breathing. When I took this position, I was told that I could transfer back to my previous position if I ever feel that this position is not for me, for whatever reason. I am most likely going to take to my supervisor on Monday morning and tell him that next week will be my last week at the feed plant. I know that when I go back to the Agro warehouse, I will be teased about only lasting two weeks, but that is ok because we joke around with each other all the time.

I will be posting my next Vitamin blog tonight as well because I am sort of stuck in my room right now. My roommates and their friends are currently in the middle of a Passion Party and I really do not want to be seen right now in fear of them making me join in.

Training and New Shift

This week I have decided to alter my training a little bit. Since the roads are really wet, and I really do not feel like getting soaked, I decided to do Insanity Asylum workouts yesterday and today. Yesterday I did "Gameday" from Asylum Vol 1 and today I did "Championship" from Asylum Vol 2. I figured that if I was not going to do a Run, that I had to do a tough cardio workout. These two workouts did not disappoint me, I was sweating, panting and sore by the time the workout was done. Tomorrow I am going to a fitness class called Bosu and I am hoping she gives us a tough workout, I need it. My weight loss for this year has not really been that good. A month into the year I had dropped 6.4lbs and I was very happy seeing those results, but then things went south from there. It has now been 13 weeks into the year and I now only down 4.6lbs. I really need to crack down on my eating, I know that is exactly what is holding me back.

I am going to the Feed Plant next week for my new shift and the guys I work with right now are thinking of starting a pool to see how long I last there before I decide I can't take it anymore. I have heard from a few people that the work over there is hard, dusty and gloomy so they don't think I will last long. The position is only for six months, but we will see what happens.

Work Issues and Running

So this past week has been pretty interesting at work. On Thursday I found out that I was moving to the Feed Plant with that position that I applied for a few weeks ago. I will be heading over there on May 8th. It will be nice to have a Monday to Friday job for once, but I am not quite sure how long I will be working their because of all the things I have heard about that place. I figured I would give it a shot because if I do not like the place I am allowed to just go back to my current position and it will be like nothing changed. My supervisor wanted to keep me for a couple weeks before I moved because right now we are in the middle of  a big tire sale and they need all the help they can get. T he tires are going out pretty fast this week and there are times where I am sweating from moving all the tires. When they told me that I got the position, they also had me book my holidays, because my supervisor is convinced that I will not like it at the Feed Plant and I will be coming back shortly. We also got paid this past Friday and I found out that my paycheque is still not fixed from about six or so months ago. I even got a letter a month ago saying that everything was fixed effective February 17th, 2013. I really do not understand how it is not fixed by now, somebody in payroll needs to be talked to and possibly monitored.

I started my running training yesterday even though we still have a few feet of snow on the ground. I had an 8 week scheduled planned out for a while now and I told myself that I would follow through with it no many what the conditions. I had to run around snow, mud and puddles. Training this year is going to be interesting because we got a lot of snow this year and the streets are going to be pretty wet when it all melts. I am thinking that next year I might get a membership to the track at the University so that I can do my training all winter instead of just two months before the race. I am also thinking of doing a second Half-marathon this year, there is one called the Mogathon in late September. I can use all summer to train for that one while I also do my third round of P90X.

Sweaty Movie Weekend

This weekend was definately interesting. My one roomate had plans to go to Edmonton with her mother and sister this weekend and then on Thursday my other roomate, her fiance, was told that his job had no work for him on friday so he decided to go with her family. That mean't that I had the house to myself all weekend, except for the tennant in the basement. Most people would take this time to inite a few people over, but instead I spent all weekend watching movies, when I wasn't working out that is. I went to visit my dad on friday, like I do every week, and I found out that the video store in my hometown was closing and they were having a close-out sale. The sale was not as good as I thought, all movies were $15.00, so I only bought five movies. I orignally had a stack of about 12 movies, but got rid of a bunch because of the price. I bought "Grown-ups", "Tower Heist", "Expendables 2", "Transporter 3", and "Snow-white and the Huntsman". I watched Expendables 2 on friday after my workouts, then on Saturday I did my workouts for the day, went grocery shopping and then I sat down and watched three more movies. I enjoyed Gorwn-ups and Tower Heist, but Snow-white and the Huntsman felt a little slow.

Now it may seem like I had a bit of a lazy weekend, which is not a bad thing every once in a while, but I actually did a total of six workouts in three days this weekend. Friday I did my scheduled shoulder workout and then my two cardio workouts, like I mentioned in my last post. On Saturday morning I actually did two cardio workouts back-to-back again. This time I did "Pure Cardio" from Insanity followed by "HIIT 30" from Turbo Fire. Finally tonight, Sunday, I did "Power Legs" from Asylum Vol 2, even though Sundays are normally my rest days.

I know I need to get out more, but the problem is that I am not going to go out by myself. I honestly would not mind hitting up the bar once a week or maybe even two weeks, but none of my friends are interested in doing that.

Co-op and Online Dating

I recently Applied for a postion at the feed plant with the Co-op. I had an interview and tour of the plant yesterday and I am not quite sure if I am going to take the position or not, if I am offered it at least. When I was talking to people about the position, I kept hearing about how dirty the place is and that the work is sometimes pretty boring. During the tour, I definately noticed the dirty part of it, but it makes sense since they are dealing with all kinds of different feeds. You have to wear a hard hat and coveralls, this is essential because of the dirt and there are a lot of pipes/tubes and are pretty low. The postion is only temporary for six months and if I decide I do not like the place within the first three months I am allowed to go back to my old position. I feel like I could at least last six months there, it would let me see what othr kind of jobs are out there within the company. Lots of guys were also saying that the shifts they work over there are crap. I was oringally told that there was three shifts you have to work, 7-3, 3-11 and 11-7. When I was in the iterview they told me that the 11-7 shift was removed, which is good because I really did not want to work a graveyard shift. Now the do two weeks of 7-3 and then two weeks of 3-11, Monday to Friday. The other good thing about the position is that it actually pays a little more than my current position. I figure I could make a few extra bucks temporarily, plus I think with our contract my wage would be frozen at that higher rate untill my wage with my old position reaches that level.

Like I have said before, I have not had any experience in the relationship part of life. In the last few months I have signed up for online dating, just to see what would happen. I am not willing to pay for that type of thing, but the best I have gotten was one girl which I chatted with for a few months. I feel like women want a man who has some experience with the ladies, but I need to get some experience first. When it comes to online dating, I think my problem is that when I message a girl I tend to stick with the basic "Hey how is it going" message. I think the women want more in he messages that they recieve, but I am not quite certain what to write. I feel like if I say something wrong, I would just make things worse. I don't know why I think this way because I don't even know the girls. I am just the type of guy that does not want to hurt anyone so I tend to play things cautiously. I know I need to be more assertive in my life, but it is hard to change that by yourself.
